Vegan Sweet Heat Garlic Tofu


* 1 block extra firm tofu , drained and pressed of liquid

* 2/3 cup agave nectar

* 2 tbsp. tamari

* 5 garlic cloves, minced or grated

* 2 tsp. sriracha

* 1 tsp. white rice vinegar

* 1/2 tsp. himalayan pink salt

* 1 tbsp. fresh green onion, minced

* 1 tbsp. corn starch


  1. Preheat your oven to 400F degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with oil.

  2. Cube your tofu into bite size pieces and set aside.

  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together agave, tamari, garlic, sriracha, vinegar, salt, and green onion.

  4. Carefully add tofu to marinade and lightly toss to cover tofu. With a slotted spoon remove tofu and add to another bowl. ( place remaining marinade to the side.) Sprinkle corn starch on top of tofu. Lightly toss until corn starch is no longer visible and tofu is evenly coated.

  5. Add tofu to prepared baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes flipping pieces midpoint.

  6. Remove from oven and switch your oven to high broil. Push tofu together so they are all touching and pour 1/4 cup of sauce on top and broil for 1-2 minutes to brown.

  7. Serve immediately with your favorite rice, veggies, and extra marinade.
